Systems for ceramic tiles
Beneq's Functional Coating System FCS 2000Ci is designed for surface modification of ceramic tiles with functional nanoparticles. The system is integrated into the ceramic tile manufacturing line. The coating applications include e.g. self cleaning photocatalytic, hydrophilic and antimicrobial coatings for ceramic tiles.
The nanoparticles are generated by using patented nHALO® burner system. Various raw materials, e.g., metal nitrates, alkoxides and sulphates can be used to feed in the active elements of the coatings. The system produces nanoparticles typically in the range of 10 to 100 nm (10-9 m), with size ranges of 50-100 nm for metal oxide particles and 10 to 50 nm for noble metal particles. For ceramic tile coating application the diffusion is controlled so that the major fraction of the active nanoparticles remains adhered on the surface i.e. the nanoparticles diffuse partially into the tile structure.
FCS 2000Ci has been developed to meet the required industrial standards. The product structure is robust and modular for further extensions. Commercially available, industrially proven components and solutions are used to guarantee high quality, serviceability and high efficiency.
