Beneq's Nanoparticle Synthesizer NBS 500 is designed for producing various functional nanoparticles on a laboratory scale.

The functional nanoparticles are generated by using patented nHALO® burner system. Various raw materials, e.g., metal nitrates, alkoxides and sulphates can be used to feed in the active elements of the nanoparticles. The produced nanoparticles are directly collected into a separate barrel for further analysis and use. The system produces nanoparticles typically in the range of 10 to 100 nm (10-9 m), with size ranges of 50...100 nm for metal oxide particles and 10 to 50 nm for noble metal particles. Moreover, the synthesis of different multicomponent nanoparticles can be realized with NBS 500.

The product species of nHALO include but are not limited to:
- single-component metal nanoparticles, e.g. Ag, Pd, Au and Pt
- single-component metal oxide particles, e.g. oxides of Fe, Co, Cu, Al, Mn, Zr, Ti and Er
- multi-component metal-metal nanoparticles, e.g. Ag-Pd
- multi-component metal oxide-metal nanoparticles, e.g. TiO2-Ag
- multi-component metal oxide-metal oxide nanoparticles, e.g. Y2O3-ZrO2
