nCOLOR - Colouring of glass by surface modification

nHALO^® is used to colour soda-lime-silica glass. During the nHALO^® colouring process, the hot glass substrate is coated with colorants of a certain chemical composition. The colorants, which nHALO^® produces as nanosize particles, readily migrate into the glass matrix and leave the surface intact. The colour depth and intensity is controlled by altering nHALO^® parameters. The colour is not a coating, but a chemically and thermally stable surface zone modification.
